The pull ring mechanism works exactly as described—I can release the hook one-handed even when my dog lunges hard against the line. It’s reassuring to know I’m not fumbling with a stiff latch in a panic situation, and the whole thing weighs almost nothing on the harness.

Fell during a skijoring run last weekend and the dog took off before I could react—this hook came apart instantly with the pull ring, even with the line taut. It’s so light I forget it’s on the harness until I actually need it.
