Quick release snap hook to attach between a belt and the dog´s leash for extra security.
Category: Spare parts
Small and light hook which is easy to open in case you fall when skijoring or need to detach the dog quickly. A pull ring with a safety pin immediately opens the hook, even when it is under heavy load.
kN rating: 4 kN (400 kg).
Compatible with: Løype belt, CaniX belt, Ferd belt
The pull ring mechanism works exactly as described—I can release the hook one-handed even when my dog lunges hard against the line. It’s reassuring to know I’m not fumbling with a stiff latch in a panic situation, and the whole thing weighs almost nothing on the harness.
Fell during a skijoring run last weekend and the dog took off before I could react—this hook came apart instantly with the pull ring, even with the line taut. It’s so light I forget it’s on the harness until I actually need it.
The pull ring is so much easier to use than fumbling with a traditional clasp, and the fact it opens under tension is a lifesaver on icy trails. My dog spooked mid-run and I had her detached before we even hit the ground.
